Some of the common ways cases can be resolved without jail time including the following:

Dismissal of Charges: A dismissal of the charges is the best way a case can be resolved; in some cases, a dismissal can be conditioned on you paying court costs or paying money to an alleged victim.

Pretrial Probation: This is a type of resolution where you agree to certain conditions and over time the District Attorney agrees to dismiss the case if you comply with the agreed up terms. This is an excellent way to resolve a criminal charge in Cambridge District Court.

CWOF or Continuance without a finding: Unlike a dismissal or Pretrial Probation, a CWOF is an admission that you committed the offenses charge.
