Massachusetts RMV License Suspensions: How to get Back on the Road
Massachusetts RMV license suspension tips for getting your license back When you face a suspension of your license in Massachusetts, you need to address the reasons that your license is suspended. In another words, if you are suspended for any of the following reasons you need to do treatment to ensure the RMV that you are safe to drive:
- Alcohol Related incident;
- Drug Related Incident;
It might be that you were found not guilty on the underlying OUI alcohol or drug charge; many clients of ours at DelSignore Law avoid OUI convictions. However, while it is helpful to win the case, the RMV will still want evidence of alcohol treatment. ‘
Your license is considered a privilege and not a right so it can be taken from you with very little evidence, far less than what it would take to prove a criminal case, proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
If you face an Immediate Threat License Suspension in Massachusetts for an alcohol related incident, you should do the following:
Attend AA and get a Substance Abuse Evaluation that indicates your risk of reoffending, called Recidivism
If your suspension is drug related, also get a Substance Abuse Evaluation, attend NA or a similar group and obtain negative drug screens for three months and if possible get a Hair Follicle Drug Test.
When your suspension is related to aggressive driving, do counseling that will address what the RMV will believe was the cause of the aggressive behavior and attend the RMV driving courses that are listed online.

A careless decision on my part left me facing charges which would have severely hampered my ability to stay employed and support myself. But attorney DelSignore's skillful analysis and challenging of the evidence against me resulted in a conviction on a lesser charge. Now I'll be able to go on with my life, having learned a lesson I'll never forget. Thank you, Michael. Scott

I cannot express the gratitude towards Michael for his amazing work and help. It was a very stressful event and they certainly put me at as much ease as possible. From start to finish it took 14 months and all the way through they were both very engaged with me. Today was worth the wait, Michael was great in court and I was rightfully found not guilty. I would recommend Michael over and over again. Claire
